2016 USF/Selmon Expressway Bridge Building Competition- Event Video

Our wood bridge building competition takes place every year as part of the USF Engineering Expo. This event video captures the teams’ creativity, ingenuity, enthusiasm and remarkable bridge designs.

In 2010, Lee Roy Selmon asked the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority to help him promote and advance STEM Education to Bay Area High School and Middle School Students.

Today, THEA’s commitment is stronger than ever. Their S3 Program (Selmon S.T.E.M. Scholarship) awards scholarships to the USF College of Engineering, offers paid internships and sponsors the USF/Selmon Expressway Balsa Wood Bridge Design Competition.

Be sure to journey with THEA in 2017 to discover which bridge design has the “FORCE” to withstand the pressure of the Bridge Crushing Machine…
