Celebrate National Ice Cream Month and Day on the Selmon Greenway

With the hot summer sun shining on Tampa, it’s the perfect time to stroll down the Selmon Greenway and celebrate National Ice Cream Month all of July and double down with a double scoop on the third Sunday of the month with National Ice Cream Day on July 17! The Selmon Greenway is a pedestrian-friendly, urban trail that runs through downtown Tampa and connects you to several popular neighborhoods, including Ybor City, Channelside, and the up-and-coming Water Street with the Riverwalk.

The Selmon Greenway is the perfect path to take when deciding how to celebrate with your favorite summer treat. Whether you want to reward yourself after a long bike ride or run or simply satisfy your sweet tooth, you are sure to find an ice cream shop to enjoy.

The Greenway begins in the historic Ybor City, which offers an array of shops and activities. A popular neighborhood scoop shop, Chill Bros, is found on East 7th Avenue. There you can take in the unique architecture of Ybor and surround yourself with its culture while enjoying a delicious cone. Then, it is just a quick walk back to the Greenway.

Further down the trail as you get to the Channel District you can find Gelato-Go Tampa. With locations across Florida, California, and even Hong Kong, you are sure to enjoy high-quality gelato made with ingredients imported directly from Italy and fresh fruit from local farmers.

Once you reach the end of the Greenway, you can follow the scenic Riverwalk by Downtown Tampa over to Armature Works. Stop in at Astro Craft Ice Cream. Their unique twists on classic flavors mean that there are endless combinations of desserts to try. They even have a Cuban ice cream sandwich and Tampa guava cream cheese flavor!

These are just a few of the many treasures you can find along or near the Selmon Greenway. Remember to support all of the many Tampa businesses along the Selmon Greenway this summer.
