What: Grand Opening and Dedication of the Hillsborough County Sheriff Deputy John Kotfila Memorial Dog Park
Where: 705 Raymond Street, Tampa, FL 33602, underneath the Selmon Expressway, behind the Bell Channelside Apartments
When: Saturday, June 24th from 9 am – 12 pm; Dedication and remarks at 9:30 am
Why: To honor Deputy Kotfila’s service and sacrifice to our community. After learning of the strong bond between Deputy Kotfila and his German Shepard, Dexter, THEA built the dog park in remembrance of Deputy Kotfila. The City of Tampa will maintain the dog park.
About the Event:
This is a family-friendly event. Activities for children include a toddler seahorse dry slide, octopus playland, bouncy house and Connect Four game. The Kotfila Dog Park is in the shade of the Expressway so fur babies will have the opportunity to try out the new dog park in comfort! Giveaways include portable dog bowls, treats, and photos.
