THEA to Hold Public Meeting for the East Selmon Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study
April 8, 2024 (Tampa, Fla.) – The Tampa Hillsborough County Expressway Authority (THEA) invites the public to attend a public meeting for the East Selmon Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. The purpose of this project is to evaluate capacity improvements along the eastern section of the Selmon Expressway. The East Selmon PD&E Study limits extend approximately 6 miles from just west of the I-4 Connector in Tampa to US 301 near Brandon. Roadway and ramp improvements will be evaluated to address the safety, efficiency, and capacity needs of the Selmon Expressway general lanes and reversible express lanes through the year 2045. It is anticipated that the improvements will primarily be within the existing right-of-way.
The East Selmon PD&E Study public meeting will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Attendees may have one-on-one discussions with study team members at information stations and view a pre-recorded presentation. The meeting will include a narrated portion that will allow interested persons to hear the project’s background and purpose, the process to complete the PD&E study, and the chosen preferred alternative.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend the public meeting at THEA’s Headquarters, 1104 E. Twiggs Street, Tampa, FL 33602. There will be an open house from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., during which attendees may review project displays and documents, speak with project team members, and make public comments. The presentation will start at 6:00 p.m. Following the presentation, the open house will resume and continue until 7:00 p.m.
