Downtown Tampa Holiday Adventures Await: Get There on the Selmon Greenway

Take advantage of Tampa’s warm winter climate and get outside this holiday season with a Selmon Greenway bike-riding adventure! The Selmon Greenway is a 1.9-mile urban trail that links the neighborhoods of Ybor City and Channelside with the riverfront area of Downtown Tampa. Here are our top three places to explore for holiday fun near the Selmon Greenway:

Winter Wonder Wharf

Starting November 18th, Sparkman Wharf becomes a winter wonderland. With a grand tree lighting kicking off the holiday season, Sparkman Wharf will be transformed into the perfect family spot for holiday celebrations. Every weekend there are new activities like the Holiday Remix Singalong and Caroling, which is ideal for all ages. Plus, enjoy visits from Santa and festive photo-ops.

Ice Skating and Shopping at Winter Village

Tampa may not have snow, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on winter and holiday fun. Running from November 18th to January 4th, use the Selmon Greenway to connect to Curtis Hixon Park to participate in fun winter activities. If you need some last-minute gifts, you can shop at some of the best small businesses in Tampa. You will find something for everyone on your list, from boutiques to other vendors. For the kids, you can enjoy some fun ice skating with a satisfying hot chocolate from Café at Winter Village after.

Winter Wonder Ride

The 11th Winter Wonder Ride is taking place on December 10th at Curtis Hixon Park. Each year you can enjoy a scenic ride taking in views of downtown Tampa and the stunning Bayshore Boulevard. Proceeds from this event help purchase new bicycles for kids and families in the Tampa Bay area. After the ride, you and your family can enjoy the winter concert back at Curtis Hixon Park to dance the night away.

The Selmon Greenway is well-lit with pocket parks, art, and benches to help pedestrians and bike riders safely connect to all that downtown Tampa has to offer. Happy holidays!
